Renders the timeline in this browser in real time (same approach as a browser editor fallback path). Keep this tab in front while it renders.
Ready.
Honest limits of a pure-browser editor: long or 4K projects render slowly and can run out of memory; cloud AI features of the original app (server-side captions, avatars, dubbing) are not part of this build — see Study notes for the full feasibility table.
Same core set as the reference editor's desktop layout.
| Space | Play / pause | Ctrl+B | Split at playhead |
| ← → | Step 1 frame (1/30s) | Q / W | Delete left / right of playhead |
| Ctrl+Z | Undo | Ctrl+Shift+Z | Redo |
| Ctrl+E | Export | M | Add marker |
| I / O | Set range in / out | Del | Delete selected |
| Ctrl + / − | Timeline zoom | Shift+Z | Zoom timeline to fit |
Functional inventory compiled 2026-11-01 from web sources (official CapCut guides + editor references). This build reproduces the functions with original code and assets — not CapCut's proprietary code, catalogue, fonts, music or branding. Labels, paywalls and availability in the real app vary by version, region and plan.

| Install / Offline | Desktop app for Windows, works without internet | Partial — web equivalent only: Install button installs it as a Windows app via Edge/Chrome (PWA) or downloads one offline FCut.html file. No signed .exe/.msi is provided — that needs a separate Windows desktop build |
| Preview | Playhead frame, ratio selector, safe guides, on-canvas drag/scale/rotate | Working |
| Timeline | Split/trim/ripple, magnet, snapping, markers, group/compound, freeze, reverse, mirror | Working (reverse & freeze on image/sample clips; video reverse noted in-panel) |

| Export | 480p–4K, 24/30/60fps, H.264/HEVC, bitrate presets, MP4/MOV, audio-only MP3/WAV/FLAC | 480p–4K real-time render to MP4/WebM; audio-only WebM |
| Cloud AI | Server ASR captions, AI dubbing, avatars, script-to-video, relight, upscale, voice cloning | Not replicable in a static page — needs cloud models/APIs |
Browser-clone stack (from the study): UI state store + timeline engine · Canvas/WebGL compositor · WebCodecs decode/encode + mp4 muxer · FFmpeg.wasm fallback · Web Audio mixing + OfflineAudioContext export · IndexedDB/OPFS storage · ONNX/MediaPipe for cutout/ASR. This page ships the no-build subset of that stack (Canvas 2D compositor + MediaRecorder export) so it runs as one static file, error-free, with no server.

FCut is a single-file editor: no server is needed to edit. Once this page has loaded once, it keeps working without internet — import, themes, music, effects and export all run on your own device.
Installs FCut like desktop software: it gets its own window, a Start Menu / desktop shortcut and opens with one click — no browser tabs. Best in Microsoft Edge or Chrome.
If the button says “Show steps”, your browser will show the install icon in the address bar instead — the steps are listed below it.
Downloads one self-contained FCut.html file. Save it anywhere (Desktop, USB), double-click to open, and edit fully offline. Share it by copying the file — nothing else to install.
Your projects and media are not inside this file — use “Save project” in the top bar for those.
Manual install steps (Edge / Chrome on Windows)
Edge: open this page → ⋯ menu → Apps → Install FCut → Install. Chrome: ⋮ menu → Save and share → Install page as app. After that, launch FCut from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut with a single click, online or offline.
Honest note: a traditional signed .exe / .msi installer can only be produced by a Windows desktop build (for example wrapping this same editor with Electron/Tauri) — it cannot be generated from a web page. The install above is the genuine web equivalent: same one-click launch, same offline behaviour, no fake installer.
